So here we were day one, of our "Trip Of A Lifetime"!
After we all met in the lobby and introduced ourselves, we were off. The first stop was a hop on hop off bus tour around the city of Dublin. It was great seeing and hearing all about the city and the history, but hey, I am not going to lie we had one big stop The Guinness Factory! Growing up Irish Catholic and having family members and friends my whole life tell me there is nothing like a Guinness in Dublin. Oh boy, let me tell you, THEY WERE RIGHT. After making our way through the bottom factory and seeing the history of Guinness and all the funny marketing used over the years , my mouth was watering. I even think Rhian was trying to distance herself from me as I drooled all over the place. Finally we made it to the top level where the Gravity bar was, and I was READY!!!!! As I lifted my first pint of Guinness to my lips and smelled the sweet aroma of this glorious fabricated beer, I took a giant gulp and SAID YES!!!!! best Guinness I have ever had!!!! As Rhian sat there and laughed at me because I was like a kid in a candy store, she decided to go a very different route and order the "Black Velvet" (Guinness and Champagne). I do not recommend this. Stick to the Guinness!!! One more pint in the Gravity Bar; it was stunning you get to look over all of Dublin while enjoying a free pint. HINT ***(Ladies or Gentleman who aren't big beer drinkers you can use your one free pint coupon and turn it into two half pints) |
Old Molly Malone!!!In Dublin's fair city,
Where the girls are so pretty, I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheel-barrow, Through streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!" "Alive, alive, oh, Alive, alive, oh," Crying "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh". She was a fishmonger, But sure 'twas no wonder, For so were her father and mother before, And they wheeled their barrows, Through the streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!" (chorus) She died of a fever, And no one could save her, And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone. But her ghost wheels her barrow, Through streets broad and narrow, Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!" (chorus)x2 |
"GOT GUINNESS"Patrick after his first sip!!!

Temple BarPatrick and I in front of our favorite bar in Dublin. We meet some very nice people that Patrick still talks to on Facebook.
Oh and they make a good Bloody Mary!!!! <-----------
This was a beautiful hand craved statue that is in the shape of a glass of Guinness. The detail was amazing and stands well over 6 ft tall. |
